Winter MAP Reading Fluency

Parents/guardians

This is very important information, please take the time to read everything.

The winter MAP Reading Fluency is coming up. Our dates are set for December 8th and December 9th and our students will be taking the MAP test in the afternoon. Please choose which day to send your child to school - there will be no virtual classes during these days.

There are some modifications we are making for this test compared to the Fall test.

1) Your child will be at school for the whole day; either 12/8 or 12/9. There will be other assessments going on as well in the classroom - letter ID, letter sound, counting to 100, identifying 2D shapes, identifying and writing letters and numbers 0-10. There will be some other assessments based on reading comprehension as well.

2) Please send your child to school with their chromebook in a bookbag/backpack. They will be using this for their assessment. Also please make sure the chromebook is charged the night before as well (send the charger as well, just in case). You can read the attached file for more detailed information about the chromebook.

3) Because your child will be in school the whole day we need to ask about breakfast and lunch. Please let us know if your child needs the school breakfast and/or lunch or if they will bring their own lunch. (We also recommend your child to bring their own filled water bottle). *Do not put the water bottle in the same space as the chromebook

4) Obviously they all need to be wearing a mask. Also please make sure they bring in their pencil pouch with their own items.

5) You will have to drop them off in the morning by car and pick them up at the end of the day by car.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
