Joyner's Bio

My name is Samantha Joyner and I have been teaching for about eleven years and this is my 1st year teaching second grade. I am excited to be working here at Petersburg Primary! I began my teaching experience as a substitute teacher in 2008 with the Chesterfield County School District. In 2011, I received my Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood and began substitute teaching with the Head Start in Cheraw S.C. I later became a 3 yr. Old Lead Teacher in 2012 to 2017. In 2017, I graduated from Coker College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and then in 2019, I received my Master’s in Education and Leadership from Ashford University. I am currently enrolled in the Teacher’s of Tomorrow program to receive my teaching credentials.  

I enjoy spending time with my family grilling, watching movies and vacationing whenever possible. My hobbies are watching boxing, fishing and relaxing by the water. My favorite sports team is the Dallas Cowboys! 

I look forward to a wonderful school year building relationships with students to learn and teach them as we all grow together throughout the school year.
