Ms. Ashley Hancock was selected this year by her peers as Teacher of the Year for Petersburg Primary School. Ashley has a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood and a Master of Arts in Literacy Studies from Coker College. When asked why she chose education as a career, Ashley stated, "Growing up I was fascinated with heroes and superpowers; their power to save lives and to make such a profound difference in the world inspired me into the field of education. Teachers have often been associated with superheroes because of their power to be million of things packed into one---an inspiration, a caring heart, a guide, a listener, and a role model. I knew that I wanted to make a difference in children's lives so a teacher is what I became." Petersburg Primary is very proud to have Ms. Ashley Hancock represent us this year as Teacher of the Year!
