Ms. Ray

Welcome friends and family of Petersburg Primary School, 

 

My name is Michaela Ray referred to as Miss.Ray. I am a first-grade teacher, and this is my second-year teaching at Petersburg Primary School. Beginning my journey at Petersburg I started as a student teacher who grew and fell in love with the environment and connections that I made here. My experience molded me and motivated me to make Petersburg my home away from home. 

 

I enjoy teaching children and seeing the accomplishments, growth and development of learners. As children begin to gravitate to new experiences and learning environments, it is important for me to teach the whole child and cater to the needs of each learner through differentiated instruction. I firmly believe that teaching is not a one size fits all method or process. Each and every child is able to learn but as a teacher I have to understand how they learn. I look forward to the adventures that this year brings. 

 

My educational background: 

I obtained my Bachelor's of Science in Child and Family Development at Benedict College. 

I obtained my Master of Arts in Teaching at Winthrop University.
