Ms. Alexis Dekine

Ms. Dekine is a native of Georgetown, South Carolina and most recently a resident of Abu Dhabi, UAE.  She began her career in Richland School District Two in 2010 as a seventh grade Science teacher.  While in Richland School District Two, in addition to teaching, she served as the seventh grade team leader, ADEPT Evaluator, a member of the School Improvement Council, and a member of the Superintendent’s Faculty Advisory Council.  In 2015, she accepted an opportunity to teach abroad in Abu Dhabi as a Science teacher for four years.  She later transitioned to the Alef Education Association in Abu Dhabi as a School Implementation Specialist where she led professional development trainings, conferences, and support groups for teachers until 2020.  Most recently, she served as the Digital Learning Coach at Sheikh Zayed Private Academy for Girls for the past two years.  Ms. Dekine was also a member of a three-person team that led their school in achieving the NAACE Technology Education Award and Apple Distinguished School status.

 

Ms. Dekine earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Master of Education degree in Divergent Learning from Columbia College.  She earned a second Master of Education degree in Administration and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University where she is also pursuing a Doctorate in Curriculum and Assessment. 

 

Ms. Dekine currently resides in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
