Hello everyone!
Hello everyone, my name is Wanda Thompson! I began my career working with children in 1990. I started working in a daycare, and became the director there within the three years I was there. Continued by journey by working in Pageland Headstart for 7 years as an assistant teacher/ bus driver. Which led me to Petersburg Primary, where I have been for over 10 years as an assistant teacher/ bus driver. I attended Northeastern Technical College (NETC) during the early 2000s. In my many years of working with children I have learned a great deal about the learning patterns and ways to help them excel in their learning. I am happy to continue my journey here on the PPS team! It has been a privilege to be named the employee of the year for PPS 2022-2023 school year!
I am the mother of four girls, one son, one daughter-in-law, and one son-in-law that I share with my husband (James) of over thirty years. I am a proud grandmother of four grand girls, three grand sons, and two great grand sons! I am also the proud grand mother of two "fur babies". I am a South Carolina native, born and raised in the Patrick, now residing in "jewel city" (Ruby). In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, close friends, and I enjoy driving. I love to travel and experience new things, and I love to watch lifetime and Christmas movies, shopping, and spend downtime at home. My favorite season of the year is the fall! I attended and graduated from Chesterfield High School c/o 1985. My goal is to help each student reach their potential and accomplish academic goals. I look forward to meeting and building these young minds with you!
